Who are we?

ecoelementsis a new online service offering ecological and environmental information, products and services to individuals and businesses. We offer our services to individuals and companies who are looking to reduce or compensate their environmental impact or eco-footprint - primarily through delivery of our eco-audit review service.

We are based in the UK and our services are mainly aimed at our national market. However we have a global perspective to our vision and many of our products are available to order from locations outside the UK. We aim to develop our services to be able to serve clients outside the UK and Europe in the near future.

Our main aims are to raise environmental awareness, encourage energy efficiency, waste reduction, recycling and reuse, and promote principles of sustainable environmental utilisation.

In order to achieve these aims we provide information on environmentally friendly products and services, encouraging consumers who support our aims to purchase from “eco” and ethical suppliers. We hope that at every stage of the consumer cycle there is an opportunity to exert positive customer choice to push industry and politics to recognise the environmental agenda.

People are becoming more and more aware of the negative impacts that our lifestyles are having on the planet. We support efforts to reduce carbon dioxide and other “greenhouse gases” as part of the attempts to address the issue of climate change. We also support the reduction of other environmental pollutants and the sustainable use of natural resources.

We think that effective wildlife conservation, the protection of endangered species and habitats, is of the highest importance if we are to successfully manage our impacts on the planet. We must protect the biosphere’s ability to respond to the demands we are placing on its ecosystems. We particularly support the preservation of native forests and other habitats as natural “carbon sinks”.

We also recognise the rights of indigenous people and believe that developing economic value from wildlife and natural resources for local communities is the key to successful long-term biodiversity conservation.

We therefore support the ecologically sustainable development and utilisation of wilderness areas by local communities - primarily through ecotourism - as a key element of our work. We recognise ecotourism can uniquely bring increased environmental awareness and create economic value, with positive benefits for local communities and wildlife conservation.

ecoelements is committed to operating not just as a "carbon neutral" company, but also aims to be an "eco-neutral" company, offsetting all identified environmental impacts of its operations, products and services.

the consumer challenge

Clearing you conscious with a holiday “carbon tax” payment, or planting a tree, is just not good enough. There’s a bigger picture of sustainability - recycling and reuse, reducing energy consumption and waste. Then also the conservation of natural habitats, prevention of biodiversity loss and species extinction – ecosystems which help stabilise the effects of man-made pollutants and cleanse the air and water.

Old habits are difficult to change. Unless we decide to make the change ourselves it will be enforced upon us and we don’t necessarily get to choose the direction it takes. Whilst there is much debate as to the extent of the dangers which our planet faces, one thing is for certain – it will not be change for the better.

We believe as consumers it is time to shun the wasteful consumerist lifestyles which our modern society has encouraged us to live, and embrace sustainable alternatives. This does not necessarily mean turning our backs on science or technology – in fact it is to science and technology which we must turn to find the answers to bring about this change.

So come on, challenge yourself, and those around you, to make the change and become the difference! Buy and be eco!
